Do you remember Bridget Jones in her Xmas sweater? Didn’t it have a reindeer on the front? A joke I know, but in the back of our minds we all have a plan of what we will wear during Christmas. While less important than gifts and food and trees, still, appearing on Christmas Day in black is just not the thing. The children wouldn’t like it!
Bright colours for day and cream too have a luxurious festive allure. Any solid colour is chic and right on trend this season. Red or cream cashmere pretty much fits the bill for all the usual events that include drinking and eating. The Audrey Cashmere Sweater and the Sloppy Cashmere Jumper are now available in jolly brights, Red, Magenta and Winser Blue. The silk or satin blouses are gorgeous, chic in both Cream and rich colours like the new Magenta.
Anything that doesn’t crease too much or that doesn’t show a drop of food or drink is a plus. We need to be able to move around at speed. One minute one is on the floor unwrapping gifts with tiny-tots, and the next we are up a ladder finding extra glasses. What we want is something that will work all day. Cooking up a storm in the kitchen then walking off all that pud. Solid colours are a good choice.
But if you can’t resist a Santa or a Snowflake I’m sure you wear it with wit and irony.
