Michelle Obama is our style icon this month. Doesn’t she seem to have changed the sartorial status quo for First Lady fashion. She has made dressing more democratic - a big champion of American ready-to-wear like J Crew for day, while looking stunning and so glamorous for State Dinners and the like wearing the top end American designers like Jason Wu and Michael Kors.
She always looks feminine and accessible and so comfortable in her fashion choices. She only rarely wears the classic White House ensemble of smart suit yet always looks impeccably and appropriately dressed, eye catching in colour and print and memorable in all her outfits.
The cardigan over a dress is one of her favourite fashion options so modern and sporty. And her fit and flare print dresses are perfect for her figure they give her a lovely ease of movement and such eye catching photo op moments. These day dresses that have taken her to Buckingham Palace and to hospital visits are so different to the spray on dresses of other modern day celebrities. It is certainly a style that she has made her own. I never expected to be so enthralled and always looking forward to her next fashion choices. It was great to see her on the Cover of the April Issue of American Vogue.
