Fluid crepe jersey is a perfect trans-seasonal fabric. It has a matt dry handle and a beautiful drape. Summer dressing is really way off and there are still spring parties to enjoy. Black jersey works for so many after dark events and I really think it is perfect for day dressing as well. Short skirts and dresses are smart for work and jersey tops are all year rounders for me. Fashion in jersey is a tad smarter than cotton and linen and right for travel too. These clothes are light yet structured, the thoughtful design and high quality fabric make these clothes contemporary classics. I always recommend a capsule collection of black jersey clothes for my clients. Top, skirt, dress and trousers, the items are usually timeless in design and are real wardrobe building pieces.
It’s very clear on the website which are the jersey pieces, and they are all described, but I am just going to add a few comments about my favourites:-
A long black evening skirt is very hard to find so this has a big recommendation from me. It’s OK if you don’t wear it straight away, it is a real keeper and will work for any event when long is required. It can be teamed with a top from outrageous sexy to a white blouse or beaded cardigan.
The jersey top called two-way just means you can wear it with the low drape either in the front or back. This is an excellent top and I would love to have it in my suitcase wherever I am travelling as it would dress up jeans perfectly and do that half changing evening thing, nice with a glam necklace.
The knee length Drapped Jersey Skirt is a go-to for smart office life, so much more alluring than a wool skirt, it is softly draped and super comfy. I have seen it worn on a leggy blonde and someone err more ordinary. In both cases it looked super chic.
The Draped Jersey Palazzo Pant have an old Hollywood glamour and are as fashion relevant today in our speedy modern world as in the glamorous movies of the past. They might not get as much wear as other trousers in your wardrobe but they are a great standby for smart drinks or an evening at Covent Garden worn with high black heels, an evening jacket or sweater or satin blouse.
Most of us own various favourite pieces of evening tailoring, velvet or brocade perhaps, that need a new item to make the outfit modern again.
Each of these specific items readily lends themselves to your own fashion interpretation. Voila!
