When the designers started creating the Autumn/Winter collections last year, something in the collective unconscious led them to the power of red and its adjacent colours.
Looking at the Press coverage of the new winter designs we see quotes like “red suits most skin tones”, “feels fresh”, “looks great with a tan”. This is no micro-trend, but a full-blown crimson wave.
The styles are by no means brash but are sure to light up our wardrobes for the coming winter. Scarlet has always been associated with luxury (and for being a bit saucy!). Check out the wealth of different fabrics, warm soft wools to sumptuous silks. Winser has a strong selection of winter dresses, coats and knitwear to choose from. Check out the Milano coat or the tweed coat for example. If it’s a dress you’re after the tip is not too tight or short, let the dress fall naturally and not hug every curve.
Keep it simple. Dress down your red with minimal jewellery, and this season’s flat shoe or boot. If red is absolutely not your thing I urge you to investigate the plum and claret range; still a warm colour and right on the button. The Audrey sweater, Miracle skirt and matching coat in burgundy worn together is a great choice. Reds and berries are power colours and make a big impact on our mood, so let’s be brave in the boardroom, fun at parties or just downright cheerful every day.
