The Winser Story

Winser London is modern luxury at its finest
– giving women what they really want.

With a highly respected career in fashion retail spanning leading roles at Marks & Spencer, Pringle of Scotland, Aquascutum and as adviser to Natalie Massenet at Net-a-Porter, Kim Winser OBE set up Winser London in 2013.

What sets Winser London apart?

Having identified an important gap in the market for truly luxurious quality women’s clothes at sensible prices, Kim Winser was perfectly placed to devise a future-proof business model that would offer women the world over the clothes they really want to wear. Clothes that are modern but not overly trendy; cleverly cut to flatter; simple without being too classic; cut from exclusively designed, high quality fabrics and knitted from luxurious yarns that will last, in carefully chosen colours that stand the test of time and are easy to co-ordinate.

How are the collections created?

The brand’s design team works closely with selected mills around the world to design, develop and deliver the highest quality fabrics and yarns that are exclusive to Winser London. Designs are created by a team of experts, each specialists in their own field – our knitwear designers in England and Scotland with experience working with international luxury knitwear brands; our dress designers in the UK and Europe who have experience designing for leading couture houses; our core London team who direct the development of the collection and have worked at a senior level with British luxury brands.
The cut of each style is meticulously honed to a level only comparable with luxury brands using individual blocks for each size, rather than the ‘cookie-cutter’ system used by the high street. The clothes are then constructed in small factories near to the mills to limit unnecessary shipping costs and to help deliver the surprisingly attractive retail prices. Winser’s unique English tweed, for example, is woven in England by a leading mill to couture standards and each tweed design is then sewn together in a factory also in England.

Winser’s mission

As luxury designers know, flattering and stylish women’s clothes begin by being designed in high quality fabrics, then cut using skilful pattern cutting techniques. Outfits need intelligent design, with carefully matched colour shades - even across numerous different fabric types. A woman can transform her look with the right outfit and when it’s found, her confidence changes gear.
With the simple mission of helping women find confidence through such clever, versatile, high quality clothes, Kim set about building a digital business model with pop-up shops in strategic locations in United Kingdom and in United States of America.

A modern business model

Kim Winser selected a senior team with second-to-none expertise in luxury fashion retail. These experts in their fields have worked with leading British luxury brands and retailers and have experience that has fast-tracked the Winser London business. Some work remotely, others from the West London headquarters of the business. At launch, each was charged with hiring juniors, fresh from college to inject a youthful edge and an innate understanding of the digital world to the business and, importantly for Kim, to support the next generation of business talent by providing career opportunities.

A nimble way of working

The business is structured to be nimble – to listen to its customers and to give them what they really want; to work closely with all its mills and suppliers to deliver a flow of newness online and in store throughout each season and to react promptly to interpret women’s fashion clothing trends in a wearable way for real women.
This is modern luxury at its finest – giving women what they really want.
